Sweet Dreams Page 4

She gave me a wicked smile. “Nope.”

  “Turn around,” I ordered huskily.

Her amusement drained away as she gave me her backside. I took a moment to feel her against me. The way her ass nestled against my crotch. The warmth of her skin as I ran my hands up her stomach. The softness of her breasts as I squeezed the round globes.

  “God, I love you.”

She sighed as she leaned forward. “I love you, too.”

I admired the length of her back and the flare of her hips as her ass pressed against my erection.

Taking my cock out of my boxer briefs, I didn’t bother removing my clothes. This was going to be a quick one. I’d make it up to her later after the girls went to sleep.

Flipping the thin fabric up, I aligned my tip with her soaked entrance.

I’d just started to push inside when the front door opened. I heard the girls complaining about snow getting in their shoes and the rustling sound of coats being hung up.

Ah, fuck. They were back early.

Hastily shoving my neglected cock back into my pants, I fumbled with my belt as Ashlyn faced me, her mouth open in shock.

She looked down at her outfit and let out a squeak.

“Oh, shit. They can’t see me like this.” She dashed up the stairs to our right, disappearing into the hallway as soon as the parade made it into the kitchen.

My hard-on deflated when Charlotte came into view. Her eyes were red and puffy, and she looked paler than usual.

“Hey, what’s wrong?” I picked the four-year-old up and set her on one of the stools at the island.

“She threw up at the restaurant,” my mom answered for her. “I think she’s got a tummy bug.”

I noticed a little vomit in Charlotte’s curly blond hair as she looked up at me with the same blue eyes as her mom.

“I made a mess on the floor.” She sniffled.

“I tipped the waiter really well,” Dad supplied, holding Emma, who’d be turning two next month. “And we took the pizza to go.”

“Pizza.” Emma reached for the box my mom had in her hands.

Well, at least one of them wasn’t sick. Yet. If past experience had anything to say about it, Emma would be next. Then me. Then maaaaybe Ashlyn, but the woman was like a frickin’ superhero. It must’ve been some kind of mom power or whatever, but she rarely got sick.

“Hey, sweetie.” Ashlyn came back down the stairs. In record time, she’d changed into black leggings and a loose-fitting purple sweater. She pressed her palm to Charlotte’s forehead. “You feel warm. Let’s get you a bath, okay?”

Nodding, our daughter went to Ashlyn.

My wife sent me a half-smile and a shrug before walking away.

Yeah, I guess I’d have to wait after all. But on the bright side, a few hours was nothing compared to those first months together.

  Ashlyn

Charlotte threw up two more times while she was in the bathtub, but now she was sleeping soundly in her bed. I was sure that wasn’t the end of it. We probably had an hour, at most, before she woke up vomiting again.

I sighed as I made it to our bedroom. Jeff wasn’t done getting Emma to sleep yet, and my body was still buzzing from what didn’t happen earlier.

As I got into the shower, I decided to take care of business myself.

The hot water cascaded over my breasts as I slipped a hand between my legs.

I was still wet and achy, and my own fingers just weren’t the same. I needed my husband.

I didn’t know why, but if Jeff and I went more than a few days without banging, I got antsy. It’d been a busy week, with several clients wanting Valentine’s Day cakes for their significant other. Last night, I’d been up until 1 a.m. baking cupcakes for the girls’ preschool classes.

But tonight, I’d been looking forward to time with Jeff. I’d even loaded up on caffeine this afternoon to make sure I was bright-eyed and bushy tailed for our date.

  Oh, well.

This was the way things went sometimes. There would be other dates in the future.

Tilting my head back, I slid my finger over my clit, thinking about the way Jeff looked at me tonight.

“What do you think you’re doing?” Jeff’s deep voice startled me, and I froze.

  I’d been caught.

Looking his way, I saw him on the other side of the glass door. He was distorted from the steam and wet drops, but he was naked. Completely.

And his cock was in his hand. He stroked it a few times, and my eyes were glued there as I continued rubbing myself.

Suddenly, he opened the door and he got in the small stand-up shower with me.

“What are you doing?” I whispered. “The girls…”

“Are asleep,” he finished for me. “I figure we’ve probably got five minutes to spare. Now, where were we? Oh, yeah. You were bent over in front of me and I was about to fuck you within an inch of your life.”

I didn’t need to be reminded twice. “Hurry.”

“Don’t worry, princess.” Jeff’s hand anchored to my hip when I turned around. “This won’t take long.”

His thick cock spread me open as he pushed inside, and I bit my lip to keep from crying out. The thrusts were rough and frenzied as he took me in a way I hadn’t experienced in a long time.

After the first time we’d had sex, the months that followed were a blur of exploring hands, sweaty bodies, long nights, and quickies between classes. We made up for lost time. Over and over again.

This unrestrained version of my husband reminded me of the horny college guy he used to be.

I smiled when I thought about that silly costume. The outfit that pushed Jeff over the edge and started it all.

Apparently, it still had the same effect ten years later.

I’d have to break it out more often.

  THE END

  ABOUT OUTCAST

  KAYLA

My infatuation with Ezra Johnson started how all obsessions begin—with a simple crush. Over the years I silently soaked up every shy smile and random act of kindness, wrestling them away to a secret place in my heart meant for unrequited love.

Because if it wasn’t for the fact that I tutor him once a week, I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t even know I exist.

  Then I find his sketchbook.

  And it changes everything.

  EZRA

There are two certainties in my life: I’ve been in love with Kayla Reynolds since I was fourteen, and I can’t have her.

I’ve spent years settling for a two-dimensional fantasy world, capturing her beauty with a pencil and paper. She’s kind, smart, gorgeous… and she belongs to someone else.

  Or so I thought.

An interesting turn of events makes me realize things aren’t always how they appear on the outside, and now I’ve got my chance to be the man she deserves.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been called a loser. The cripple. An outcast.

But maybe—just maybe—this time the good guy won’t finish last.
